I've searched this forum, Google, and various virus definition databases and can't find anything on this process.

Anybody else come across this - on Windows 2000 Professional -

PID: 900 ( 228) C:\WINNT\system32\devidvoc.exe
Open network ports: TCP:Listen on port 2468
and there are about 45 loaded modules running under PID 900.

Hopefully I'm not the only person on the planet with this....

Hello jrhalli2,

Please follow the instructions in this link to produce a HJT log: "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288)

Then start your own thread in the Malware Removal Forum (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22) where a helper will advise you as soon as available.

Cheers.

Unfortunately we're not allowed to download or install any software (including HJT), so I'm unable to follow the instructions, which is why I posted in this forum.

I'm just curious if anybody else has come across devidvoc.exe. Google comes up with nothing - which is really hard to believe.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I'm handcuffed.

I understand, if the machine/s not a personal computer that is sound policy.

Without seeing a log this is out of context, but may shed some light. Breaking down devidvoc.exe.

An example of a Dev ID: devid http://dev.aol.com/devid_faq
