Hi, I had problems(viruses?) with my SCSI drive so removed it and have recently installed a new HD and loaded spybot straight away. I see virtumonde, virtumonde.sci and others when I do a spybot scan. In firefox I was also getting redirected to bogus sites, though that seems to have stopped now. Not sure how the viruses got onto new drive.
Help appreciated.

hi,

we will start with MBAM. Link and directions below:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM) to your desktop:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click **Remove Selected.**
*A restart may be required to finish the clean up process*
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt

please post the MBAM log in reply

Sorry for delay. During spybot check. In the bot check window/progress bar i see the viruses, but when the check is finished, it reports that no threats are found!

hi,

Iam not very familiar with Spybot, but i think you are seeing some of the items it checks for. Any malware on your machine would be displayed after the scan is finished. Are you having any of the possible signs (http://www.virusvault.us/signs1.html)of malware?
