i am trying to stop a startup program from spybot tools. it shows that it is a malware, system hog type program from paul collins list, but when i try to uncheck it to get it out of my startup programs, i get an "administrative access needed" message. Actually this message shows on all programs thru spybot programming so i'm assuming it's a vista problem. the launcher also does not show in my msconfig so i cannot take it out there. can someone help me?
i'm running on windows vista home premium.

Before someone answers how to authorize the disabling of startup entries in Vista, perhaps you should indicate what startup program you are attempting to disable because "... it is a malware, system hog type program from Paul Collins list ...".
In many cases, Paul Collins' startup list contains multiple possibilities for a particular startup entry. On numerous occasions people have misinterpreted those possibilities and deleted startup entries that are not malicious or system hogs at all.

The name of the startup entry would have been helpful.
Try running Spybot with elevated administrator rights. See:
How can I get Administrator rights under Windows Vista?
