Generic.m W32 virus ... help please

Ok, I have fixed my girlfriends computer a total of three times in the last few months and of course as soon as i give up and format the whole thing she goes and gets a P2P virus. I have been reading a different thread about pretty much the same thing. But, seeing that this is a differnt cpu and a differnt user i figured i might as well see if there is something different that i may need to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I already downloaded Trend Micro Sysclean Package and it is in the process of completing.

~edit~ After running the trend sysclean i found the virus is actually the worm GAOBOT.df

If finishing the scan is all i need to do then i should have already cleansed the cpu.

Hello and welcome to the forum. You have a pretty good mess here:
1) Windows Overlay Components X (Random).exe Reported as the Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Agent.tb TROJAN! by Kaspersky Anti-Virus. Note: This trojan file is located in the Windows or Winnt folder. 2) Network Monitor X netmon.exe Reported by Panda as the Trj/Cicos.H TROJAN! This trojan if found in the \Program Files\Network Monitor\ folder. Note: This is not the legitimate Microsoft Network Monitor (Netmon.exe) process which is legitimate to capture network traffic. Article_Q812953

As you can see we would have a complex fix in front of us. You have indicated you are downloading stuff and fixing stuff and I have no idea what you are doing. If you still need help, post a fresh HJT log, I will look it over to see if there are any changes and start the cleanup process, which will take some time and effort, as soon as possible after that. If you have solved your problem, let us know so we can close your topic.
