I realize that this is not a computer fix it site. But I was hoping someone with some expertise could assist. I have some knowledge of computers and know how fix most problems. This is one I cannot figure out without starting all over.
I am working on a computer for a friend. It has three different size SATA drives which are not RAID setup. One is a 80gig, 160gig, 1TB drive.
When he installed windows he installed it on the 160GB drive which windows calls drive D and BIOS says it is in SATA 1 on the board. The 80GB is listed as C: by windows and SATA 2 on the board. THe TB drive is recognized as G: by windows (there are two DVD drives also).
This is Windows XP SP3.
The issue is a program he is installing will not work properly because windows wants to put in drive D: and program needs it to be on C:
Do I need to wipe everything out and start over with a fresh install and put Windows in drive C: or can I make windows switch drive letters somehow??
Any help would be appreciated.
