Hi All,
I have no idea how my computer suddenly became infected with all of these problems. I'm using an ASUS A8Js notebook running Win XP Pro that is fully up to date.
Earlier today when I went to log back into my account I noticed that there was some spyware guard adware/malware thing that had popped up a ton of windows on my screen and there were windows error boxes and it was just a giant mess.
The first thing I did was a system restore to 2 days ago which didn't result in any noticeable change.
Next, I rebooted into safe mode, updated my Avast! definitions and ran a boot-time scan where it found all sorts of stuff that I let it delete automatically. When it booted back up I couldn't see my desktop icons/task bar so I manually started explorer.exe and then everything came back. Within minutes I had a ton of copies of "services.exe" in my task manager and the whole mess came back.
I ran Spybot S&D which removed some stuff and then wanted to do a scan right before I logged into windows so I let it do that and it said it fixed everything but now when I launch Avast! and it does its memory test it finds services.exe, svschost.exe, and svn~host.exe (that's an n with a tilda above it) as infected with trojans.
If I look at my taskmanager right now I see svn~host.exe and msauc.exe which I don't believe are normal, but I don't have any pop-ups or errors or the whole mess currently.
Obviously there is still something wrong with my machine. Below is my HJT log and if someone could help me out and let me know what my problem is and how I should go about fixing it, I would appreciate it VERY much.
