TrendMicro and McAffee Products are PUPS?

I just installed and ran spybot on my son's new computer and read the tip of the day.

It said something about TrendMicro and McAffee products being malware or PUPS.

I would really love more information of this. At least the full version of the tip of the day. due to space linmitations, the text of the message was trunacated and replaced with several . . .'s

I've always felt TrendMicro was malware. I have a small business client or two that use it and there stuff at least sucks. won't uninstall, connects to the internet without permission or warning etc. Several characteristics of malware.

I need some evidence before I go to them and level the third strike against their lame network guy though.

now that I've written a post about it, I'm seeing a similar partial message whenever I hover over the word, "TrendMicro"

i should off posted this way way back (at least a year ago)
after downloading cws remover from trend micro a2 squared found what it called traces leading back to the said file.

however it didnt flag hijack this witch i did download from the same site.
