I'm not in too bad of shape. Honestly, my computer is doing quite well as far as I can tell. I've been using AVG Free for some time with weekly scans. I just tried Avast today and it picked up some trojans that I never saw before. Now I'm just worried that there's something running on my PC that I may not know about. At this point I'm thinking about a clean windows install just to be sure. I hate to think my PC has been part of a botnet or infiltrated by trojans... figured I'd let an experience set of eyes take a look before taking drastic measures. Thanks in advance!

3) Because TeaTimer is not disabled in the HJT log and the instructions plainly state:
Before you post a HJT log
When Spybot-S&D is installed.
TeaTimer needs to be disabled so that its protection does not interfere with fixes.
I have to assume the directions were not read. If you correct the issues I have posted, then post a new HJT log and describe any symptoms you have and I will be glad to take another look.

I want to say I am in no way saying you are infected, but if you were, a clean install of Windows will not assure you that you are clean, nothing less that a complete reformat can do that.

Thanks for the reply and apologies on the Tea Timer. I remember going through the steps (in fact it's still disabled). Maybe I forgot to reboot.
I normally only run 1 AV but thought I'd give Avast a try. I'm glad I did considering it found infections AVG hadn't. AVG Free has been unistalled.
The Comodo Memory Firewall isn't actually a "Firewall" per se. It's an app that prevents memory buffer overflow attacks. It doesn't actually monitor inbound/outbound traffic. I'm hoping that means it can stay? :)

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. I personally run AVG 8 free so keep in mind the issues may have been caused by conflictions between the two programs. As far as I am concerned you can leave Comodo if you are positive you are running only one firewall (that includes the Windows firewall also) You did read what Comodo had to say?
No, it will not be safer or better for you to run two firewalls together.
In fact, it will be worse. You should never run two firewalls together as they will probably conflict, and cause system errors that will not normally happen if you run either of the firewalls separately.
We highly recommend you not only disable, but also uninstall completely, other firewalls you have when running CPF. (You will not be able to uninstall Windows XP firewall, but you should disable it.)
Let's take a first look like this and in the numbered order.
1) Please DO NOT ENABLE Spybot S&D TeaTimer while we work together.
2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.
3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

5) Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your Desktop

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
* Please post contents of that file & a new HJT log in your next reply.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

6) Post also an uninstall list: Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.

This can be done as time permits, but it is important.
Uninstall list: I look for malware and security issues and will not know all of your programs, but you should.

Clean the System Restore files like this:
Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Reboot
Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
