I'm sorry I know the whole TeaTimer memory usage ordeal is eating up threads, but I can't help but ask, is it normal after a clean install and one minute of use, for TeaTimer to eat 60 megabytes of RAM?

Well 56,504K to be exact. I ask because I saw it drop once for a minute to 3meg and got all excited, but then it lurched up again...

Well, to tell you the truth that is approximately how much memory TeaTimer consumes. It might as well be worth it if you got the resources and have some to spare for security. Currently, TeaTimer is set on a "conservative mode" to use less memory. I remember there was a registry tweak somewhere, that if you give TeaTimer it'll scan faster.

There were a few instances where TeaTimer was using 35-45 MB of RAM on my machine but it kind of varies with each machine.

Is this memory consummation causing a problem?

Hi aspectus,

Welcome to Safer Networking Forums. :)

56 MB is ok. TeaTimer needs at the moment 57 MB on my Computer (Windows XP). ;)

Best regards,

Not at all, it just seemed like alot, its easy enough to shut down when I need every scrap of memory in any case. Thanks. :bigthumb:
