I have scanned my pc several times with Spybot and when it gets thru scanning I click the Fix button. The hour glass shows up but it doesn't appear to do anything. I have left it there for quite a few minutes. If I click it again - I get a (not responding) error. Not sure what's up with that. Appreciate any help or suggestions.
1.) Do you have the latest version of spybot? What version do you have?
2.) What operating system are you running?
3.) Have you tried selecting 1 items at a time and just fixing them one by one?
4.) How many items were detected? (right click the white area in the scan window and choose copy contents to clipboard and post them here.)
Also, Have you tried a scan in safe mode to remove those items?

What problems are being detected?
Post a log from a scan when the problem occurred or reoccurs. To do that, either:
Run another scan.
When the scan completes, right click on the results list, select "Copy results to clipboard".
Then paste those results (Ctrl+V) to a new post in this thread.
Post the Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log from a previous scan that shows the detection in question.
By default here are two Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log files produced during a scan. The second Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log has the details of what the scan found. A Fixes.yymmdd-hhmm.log file is produced if you fix or attempt to fix something.
There are two methods to copy and post that information from previous scans:
Method 1:
Go into Spybot “ Mode “ Advanced mode “ Tools “ View Reports “ View Previous reports. Look for the Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log file that contains the detections that you would like help with. Open it. To copy it to the Clipboard, right click on the listing and select Select All “ Right click again and select Copy. Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of the Clipboard into a new post in this thread.
Method 2
The Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log and Fixes.yymmdd-hhmm.log files are stored in the following folders:

Hello,
Please disable all other security programs that you run and close all other programs during the work with Spybot - Search & Destroy.
Also run a scan in safe mode:

That should fix it.
It should also help to deactivate the scanning for usage tracks and Cookies.
Please run Spybot-S&D and switch to "Advanced mode" via the menu bar item "Mode". Now select "Settings" --> "File Sets" in the navigation bar on the left. The checkboxes in front of "Usage tracking, Beta.uti, NewTracks.uti and Tracks.uti" have to be unticked if you do not want to find usage tracks anymore. For excluding Cookies from the search deactivate the checkbox in front of Cookies.sbi.
