View Full Version : v1.6.2 will hang after stopping auto scan

Anyone else have this problem? I've tried a fresh install of v1.6.2 on a few different computers. I check the "Run check on program start" option and Spybot auto scans when it's run. But when I try to press the "Stop check" button it stops the scanning but hangs after that and the program gets stuck. Anyone else seen this bug? I don't upgrade to v1.6.2 on machines anymore due to this issue. I still use v1.6.0 and exclude the 1.6.2 from the updates.

Any fix for this? Is this a known bug? While I'm at it, a quicker cancel on the scan would be really nice. Sometimes it can take 10-20 seconds just to cancel the scan after pressing the stop button.

Hello,

The scan could hang when the stop button was pressed in an automated scan. This was a little bug.

Please download this new SpybotSD.exe (http://www.spybotupdates.biz/files/beta/SpybotSD.exe-1.6.3.51.zip#hash(md5:49B094774AC6ED0A34EC16C4DACFE5C7) file as fix.

To use this file extract the downloaded archive into the main application folder (usually C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\).

Replace it with the files in your Spybot program folder. If the SpybotSD.exe is hidden, make it visible:

* Using Windows Explorer navagate to:
o C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy
* In the Tools menu select Folder Options…
* In the Folder Options dialog select the View tab.
* Uncheck the following option:
o Hide protected operating system file (Recommended)
* Click the Apply button.
* Click the OK button.
* The files should now be displayed

Best regards
Sandra

Hello all,

in beta version 1.6.3.51 the problem seems to be solved. Aborting works on my computer.

Great thanks to the develloper :santa:
