Very odd indeed...

I would try running a resgistry cleaner and possibly ad-aware SE. Maybe some other program is causing Spybot to not function?

Tashi....

Genl health of PC - Good - no chronic problems

Running XP Pro SP2...
Opera primary browser, but use IE 7.0(Beta) or Firefox, if necessary
AVG for Anti-Virus
ZA Pro for firewall
Win Defender
Adaware SE Pro, but not Adwatch

Re Timing of Spybot problem - occurred first time it was run (1AM next morning) after Expression Web Design installed...some of the above programs may have been auto updated between the time EWD installed and Spybot being run, but can't ascertain if that happened or not...

Let me know if you need more info...

Hi there.

All signs point to the installation of Expression Web Design Beta as the cause of the Application Error.

Where did you obtain the Beta from, I was under the impression this was a closed beta.

Tashi...

Thanks for the response...however, I think we both know the type of response I'd get from MS....sooo, since I run both Adaware and WinDefender (ZA too, I think) scans daily, I'm probably covered w/o Spybot...as much as I may like it...

EWD is a public beta (actually a CTP) freely available to all...www.microsoft.com/products/expression/

Thanks again...

Ah the (CTP) yes I see. :)

It will be interesting to see if we receive other reports of an application error when used in conjunction with Spybot-S&D.

Best wishes.
