• Welcome Guest, to the Spybot Forums! It's 2025, and we just upgraded our forum software.

Today is Safer Internet Day, and with our new forum, you can finally use passkeys to login. That was about time!

Of course, you could ask if a forum is still useful, with so many social media networks out there where you might already have an account, and met a lot of users. You can now use your login from some of those networks to log in here. And by posting here, your question and data is stored on our servers and not automatically shared with a whole social media network.

We'll also start using the forum for small bits of information, announcements and more again.

What version of Spybot-Search&Destroy are you running?
What is your Operating System?

How is it slow? In what way? Download speed?

the version is 1.6.2 (updated)
windows xp

when you open internet explorer and then type the web site, for example www.google.com. it takes 5 to 6 seconds for the google to appear.
before it was only 2 to 3 seconds.

not really a long slowdown. but i want to be enlighten. if the immunization can cause slowness or not.

Hi BennyZars,

usually, there's no problem with ATF Cleaner. The only thing you maybe will notice is a longer start time of Windows the next time.

-Matt-'s got it . Clearing your temp. files= no danger. Registry cleaners=no good.

What browser do you use primarily to access the Internet? MS IE?
May I suggest Mozilla Firefox? Or Google Chrome as alternatives?

I had that problem a few times, but I resolved it by refreshing the page.
How fast the video loads varies depending on your Internet Connection and traffic (how much users are accessing the same content [this doesn't usually affect you]).

How did ATF cleaner go? Is your connection still "slow"?
Mozilla Firefox 3.0.7 isn't that bad, and it's guaranteed to be faster than MS IE7 (maybe by a bit).

Can you run a speedtest? Speedtest.net is a simple one.

yes its good now. ^_^
all temp files size reach up to 300mb. (thats plenty).

ok im going to try the mozilla.

anyway i just tried the opera.

Hi BennyZars,

you can set Firefox in this way that all temp files will be cleared after closing. Moreover, you should use ATF Cleaner or CCleaner to delete some Windows & Java temp files every 3-5 days.
I'm glad we could help. :)

Best regards,
