I'm really sorry if this isn't the right section, just registered here.
Anyways, I was browsing Youtube earlier, and no more than 5 seconds on the front page my teatimer pop's up asking me to allow some kind of flash player change, I assumed it was an update of sorts and clicked allow. Though shortly after that I thought to myself "strange, in all my time browsing youtube I have never gotten something like this before." So I look it up online and see that what I allowed may also be malware. I haven't updated my Macromedia since I installed it which was last October, and this is the first I'm getting of a flash update. I guess I should also add that I'm a very safe surfer and have a firewall and some anti-software, and while I know that doesn't mean I'm 100% safe I just wonder if it is perhaps me being over-paranoid, or actually something happening. Here is the teatimer log: PM Allowed (based on user decision) value "FlashPlayerUpdate" (new data: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32_FlashUtil.exe -p") added in System Startup user entry!. Thanks for any help.

Hi Someoneinneed,

:welcome: to Safer Networking Forums. :)

It don't think it's Malware. But just to make sure, scan your computer with 2 or 3 Anti-Malware tools. ;)

Do you have Sings of Malware (http://www.virusvault.us/signs1.html) after you allowed the update ?

Best regards,

as flash has updated to a later version last Thursday. Your fine ;)

The new version of flash solves a lot of issues.

See here: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

My flash has updated to, so not to worry :)
