Hello there. I have been using Spybot for years without problems. Today I upgraded to 1.62 and it is not working. Each time I start the program it works for a few minutes and then gets to a Win32 program scan and REBOOTS my computer without completing the program. I have uninstalled the previous version and reinstalled this version to no avail.
Can anyone help me? I would love to get this working properly.

My pc is clean inside. I use Trend Micro and keep it updated.
Yes, my scan is interrupted after a few seconds, and I see that has happened to others too.
I noticed in the download of the 1.62 v that some of the info was in gibberish.......or code. I thought that was funny, but I did do the update download from the S&D site itself.
No solution in site. Can you suggest something else for me? :snorkle:

hhmm... you know that Trend Micro and Spybot aren't friends:

You can try to un-install Spybot completely, reboot your computer and after that install Spybot again... but I'm not sure whether this would help you...
To which Win32 program does Spybot come when it is interrupted? Which version of Spybot did you have before installing 1.6.2 ?

Hello again Mamtt, and thanks for brainstorming this with me. I have been using BOTH Trend product and the SpyBot for years now with no problems. The problem occured when I upgraded today to the 1.62.
The computer reboots when it gets to win32tds something or other :-)
Unforetunately, I uninstalled my previous version, which worked fine . Now I am without the use of S&D. Perhaps there are glitches with the new version 1.62 not inherent in the previous versions. Is there anyplace on the net where I can obtain a copy of the previous version?

TDSS is a rootkit which blocks Spybot.

No, I don't think so... it could be the rootkit...
