I was just checking the latest anti-malware downloads at MajorGeeks, and when I clicked on a SpyBot link (more about that in a moment), I was surprised to see several "Ads by Google" links to (presumably rogue) "sound alikes". Just wanted to be sure you're aware of them here (and hopefully confronting them to the legal extent possible):

one was Spy|Bot S&D 2009 (SpyBot.S-D2009 dot com)
another was Search & Destroy (SpyBot.SpyDestroy2009 dot net)

Separate question: the MajorGeeks site has a link to SpyBot 1.6.3.50 Beta , but I've seen no "chatter" about it here in these forums. What's the story here? http://www.majorgeeks.com/SpyBot-Search_&_Destroy_Tools_Beta_d5396.html

A follow-up note:

For users of WOT (Web of Trust), it will block an attempt to download the program from the first site; as well as an attempt to even access the second site.

it's probably part of the AV 200x scam-ware

and I wouldn't recommend anyone get Spybot S&D from anywhere else but links provided on the "Safer-Networking.org" site.
