Unable to open Spybot #2

I've removed some trojans from my wife's computer using Sophos but there are still some problems e.g. Internet Explorer keeps corrupting urls to windowsclick.

I've downloaded Spybot successfully but I cannot open it.

Because of that backdoor trojan, you need to consider this information.

A Backdoor is a software program that gives an attacker unauthorized access to a machine and the means for remotely controlling the machine without the user's knowledge. A Backdoor compromises system integrity by making changes to the system that allow it to by used by the attacker for malicious purposes unknown to the user.

One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan.
This allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and Download and Execute files
I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.
Though the Trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. Thank you. This is very worrying.

I have disconnected the computer from the internet.

My wife uses the computer for:

accessing her work email via the web
accessing her web personal email
she does not access bank accounts
she does access a online shopping account
She uses her credit cards and debit card on the web to purchase goods and services e,g, photos, books etc.

We are following the advice you have given regarding banks etc.

It appears that we now have a choice:

1) try to disinfect but there is no guarantee that this will be completely effective or

2) wipe the hard disk and reinstall Windows.

Given the information I have provided, is it worth trying disinfection?

Is the computer more likely to be targetted in future?

Hi and sorry we have to meet under these circumstances. First I'll ask that you not quote my instructions, we can both scroll back to see what I said and it's a waste of space.

I can provide information to help you decide, but I can not make decisions for you. Since organized crime moved online, the net is no longer a safe place and that will be the case until law enforcements finds out how to police the world. (or security becomes advanced enough to stop them) I will say this, I do online banking and bill paying and a small amount of online purchasing. Were I in this situation, I would have no choice but to reformat.
As far as the computer being targeted, these hackers target them all, they get to the ones who do not have security to stop them, or lack the understanding of how to avoid infections.

I will post some links for you that will give you some idea of the situation, but surely not the complete picture.
