View Full Version : Malware infection

I had one of the malware infections that caused tray pop up warnings and endless popups. I've run Norton in safe mode, ewido, defender, and Spybot S&D, all in safe mode. Apparently this malware is self-replicating and obviously not fully disposed of.

I see many people posting HijackThis logs....where do I get this app?

Homepage hijacked to bestsafetyguide.com, fighting a variety of infections that seem to be self replicating. Have scanned with Norton/Symantec, Spybot S&D, and Windows defender, all on safe mode. Have cleaned everything off, but homepage still the above.

When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
