The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Fraud.VirusDoctor" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Fraud.VirusDoctor is a fake antivirus software that shows a lot of false positives like c:\windows. It tries to scare the user to pay for removal. It also redirects a couple of security sites to its server in the Ukraine. Further it installs a BHO to control the Inter Explorer. The system start entry for Fraud.VirusDoctor is named "Drives swap" while it calls itself AntiVirus-1.
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "Drives swap" and pointing to "<$COMMONAPPDATA>\AV1\AV1i.exe".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$COMMONAPPDATA>\AV1\AV1.cab".
The file at "<$COMMONAPPDATA>\AV1\av1.exe".
The file at "<$COMMONAPPDATA>\AV1\AV1i.exe".
The file at "<$COMMONAPPDATA>\AV1\AV1Two.exe".
The file at "<$COMMONAPPDATA>\AV1\QWProtect.dll".
The file at "<$COMMONAPPDATA>\AV1\svchost.exe".
The file at "<$COMMONDESKTOP>\Anti-Virus Number-1.lnk".
The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\Anti-Virus Number-1\Anti-Virus Number-1.lnk".
The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\Anti-Virus Number-1\Uninstall.lnk".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Fraud.VirusDoctor uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.

The directory at "<$COMMONAPPDATA>\AV1".
The directory at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\Anti-Virus Number-1".

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "QWProtect.QWProtectBHO.1", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "QWProtect.QWProtectBHO", plus associated values.
Delete the registry key "{0D1DBFEE-0C43-4223-8B3E-A56FB3C5C87D}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
Delete the registry key "{0D1DBFEE-0C43-4223-8B3E-A56FB3C5C87D}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{8D187DFF-423F-41d3-A331-A60DE5886675}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
Delete the registry key "{CD30B357-F8F7-4AD1-BF68-04A219D21A69}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
Delete the registry key "AV1" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
Delete the registry key "QWProtect.DLL" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
If Fraud.VirusDoctor uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).

Hosts:

The host file is a local address book for Internet pages. It is sometimes used by malware to block certain domains, or to silently redirect them.
Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) or RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) will show its content to you; you can also us a text editor to locate and edit the file "hosts" (most likely in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\).

Check the hosts file entry for the domain "*".
