The user has a problem idenfifying the latest version. He says that he has the: 1.6.2. That's all.:oops:

I was able to uninstall and sucessfully install S&D but only if I did not select "Check for updates" durin installation. When I selecte this option I still received the registry errors. :)

Uninstall Spybot 1.6.2, reboot computer, install Spybot 1.6.2 again, but do NOT run "Check for updates" durin installation.
