I downloaded the file and tried to open it but it gave me an error code saying access violation at address .... Write of address .....
I've tried downloading it from different mirrors, but I still get the same error.

Which Version of Spybot did you download? 1.6.2 ?
Which operating system do you use?
Do you have Sings of Malware (http://www.virusvault.us/signs1.html) ?

Sorry, I'm not much of a computer guy.
Yes, I downloaded 1.6.2 and I'm using an Acer laptop.
And I don't think I have any malware or at least I'm pretty sure.
I run AVG free edition often as well.
