Is there an option to block this cookie using Spybot. Or is Hosts File blocking the only option? Thanks in advance.

Please disregard. Blocked with Hosts File. Attempted to delete post with negative results.

Thanks for inquiry...Opera which has no "specific cookie" blocking that i'm aware of...the host file is doing what i really wanted..to block the connection to "google-analytics.com"

in firefox/mozilla install AdBlock extension. go to the menu Tools/Adblock/Preferences
add line *google-analytics*
click Done
It's over.
Basically this is just another (more advanced ?) flavor of all those hit counters which WEB masters/sites owners can use instead of the server logs.

just wasting your bandwidth and time. block it. it loads a JavaScript from the google servers. Unfortunately on some pages you are going to visit this is the first thing your browser will do. Browsers open only so many TCP connections simultaneously. it means that somehting else will have to wait.

[Update]
file hosts solves the problem in any (almost) OS in the known part of the universe.
for the Windows users see Windows directory for file "hosts", open the file in Notepad, add line
127.0.0.1 google-analytics.com
