Trojan removed but computer still malfunctioning

Hello,

My last scan with McAfee Security Center found the Trojan Generic!Artemis (file name UH[1].exe) and I removed it. But I'm still having these problems:

- My Startup programs (including McAfee) will not load at startup. Nothing appears in the system tray. When I start McAfee manually, it does not appear in the system tray.

- When I try to update McAfee, it attempts to download updates but then I get a failure message, and an instruction to reinstall the program. I also cannot update my copy of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

- I cannot connect with the McAfee.com website or the Malwarebytes website.

- Firefox is loading very slowly.

I was able to reinstall and update Anti-Malware, and it found the Daonol trojan and a registry entry that disabled the McAfee Security Center. I fixed both items and now everything is apparently back to normal.

I read up on Daonol and it seems that it may have planted other infections. I've found a Daonol Removal utility made by Pareto Logic. Can anyone vouch for it?
