Please help! My computer's icons and the start menu taskbars are gone and I cannot access anything on my computer!!! Please help me to restore my icons and start menu. I am currently using the task manager to open my internet explorer. I cannot right click or do anything.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Im pretty new to the site and I dont know my way around it yet. If you can help me make things easier for you, that would be great. So per your request, you would like me to post this in the regular forum and not PM? Im not quite sure what PM stands for, nor if i should post this problem as a new threat each time. Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe
Then post the resultant log.


Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.

Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Delete c:\documents and settings\Thuan\Local Settings\Temp\00000321.exe file if found.

Hi

The log looks good.

I assume it's Symantec Antivirus giving these alerts. Does it show the location where these findings are? You could run a scan for the system with Symantec Antivirus to see if it still finds something. Let me know how it goes :)

You're welcome :) Keep me updated on findings. If it comes back clean, then there are some steps like ComboFix uninstallation left.
