i just downloaded spybot and the latest updates needed. the scan runs for 7 seconds and says it is done. i know it scans longer than that becuase i had it on my old comp. what could be wrong?
If you haven't exited Spybot since downloading the updates,try closing Spybot,then restarting Spybot.
If that doesn't work,try clicking mode at the top of Spybot,then advanced mode,then go to settings->file sets.If there are a bunch of things unchecked in file sets,then:
a.If you only want to scan for Spyware,rightclick an empty area in the filesets window,and select Spyware check only.
or b.If you prefer to scan for usage tracks too,then rightclick an empty area in the filesets window,and select 'Select all available checks.'

it works now. I closed it and opened it back up and i worked. thanks.
