View Full Version : 2 versions?
I know this is going to sound dumb but I seem to have 2 versions of Spybot S&D on my pc. One is ver. 1.5.2.20 and the other is 1.6.2 Is it safe to uninstall the older version without messing up the newer version?
Yeah, I know, dumb, right? Just don't want to have to jump through hoops in case uninstalling the older version will delete all the definitions and updates, etc.

Hi LaQuiet,
:welcome: to Safer Networking Forums. :)
Well, I think, it would be the best, if you uninstall Spybot (both versions) completely (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/howto/uninstall.html), reboot your computer and install a fresh version of Spybot 1.6.2. ;)
Thank you for the welcome Matt, and thank you for the help.
Dang if I don't have to jump through those hoops I was talking about.. Reinstalling means that I have to Immunize and scan all over again.. :hair: lol

Well, immunizing your system and a scan shouldn't take too much time. :)
Unfortunately, my Big pc is in the shop and I'm just using this p.o.s. 1.80GHz clone for now so it will take a bit longer than it would on my Big baby..(I miss her!:trample:) This pc is a bit slow.. *sigh* But I'll get to it as soon as I decide to get out of bed.. lol It's Sunday and I'm on Pacific time..:p: I still have work to do, but that can wait..:coffee:
