How do I get 'administrator rights' in Vista?

Have downloaded Spybot - S&D on my laptop, using Windows Vista, and it requires me to have 'administrator rights' to do anything of value. How do I go about this?
Any suggestions will be appreciated - however, I'm a novice on computers so can you make any advice/instructions simple to follow please?!

Right-click on setup/program, and select "Run as Administrator".
