I manage about 70 XP Home PCs and have many of them running the following Scheduled Task at about 21:00 (9 PM) every three nights.
"C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SpybotSD.exe" /autoupdate /autoimmunize /autocheck /autofix /autoclose
Although it seems to do it's job, it looks like I have to set it to quit after 2-3 hours. I've heard of the scans taking a while but that was normally caused by malware or something of the sort. These PCs are clean (fresh out of the box) and they are still doing this. If I don't set them close shut the task down after 2-3 hours, it will keep going for days.
Now, I've watched Task Manager and I can see when the scan's actually running. The scan uses about 40-50% of the CPU. You can see when the scan stops 'cause the CPU usage on "SpyBotSD.exe" drops to zero.
Why is it not cloasing?
