Hi oneputt

Are both AntiVir and McAfee up-to-date?

oneputt
2009-05-16, 17:59
AnitVir is updated, McAfee isn't. McAfee virus protection is not enabled...only the firewall portion of McAfee Security Center is activated. Do you recommend uninstalling McAfee and getting another firewall program?

OK, that is fine then :)

We will begin with ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:
This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.
ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used unless requested by a forum helper

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
If you need help to disable your protection programs see here. (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html)

When finished, it will produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Please go to Kaspersky website (http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/eng/partner/default/kavwebscan.html) and perform an online antivirus scan.

Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button: Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
Archives
Click on My Computer under Scan.
Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button.
Please post this log in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Note: The Kaspersky scan took over 4 hours. Is this unusual? Also, during the Kaspersky scan, the following RUNDLL error occurred:

Error Loading C:\Program Files\Common Files\ParetoLogic\UUS2\UUS.dll

I just clicked "Ok" and let the scan finish.

Kaspersky scan result:

No as it can take even longer.

Empty this folder:

C:\Qoobox\Quarantine

Empty Recycle Bin.

Still problems?

I ran a spybot S&D scan, which came back clean. I then scanned with AntiVir, and it found the following two files:

c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search_Destroy\Recovery\SmitFraudCgp.zip

c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search_Destroy\Recovery\Virtumondesdn2.zip

Should I repair these or ignore them?

You can empty this folder:

c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search_Destroy\Recovery

Empty Recycle Bin.

I emptied that folder, restarted another AntiVir scan, and some trojans showed up in the c:\System Volume Information\ folder.

Here is the AntiVir scan log:
