Hi,

I am W2k sp4 on a little Intel Prescott-based desktop at home.

Is there any way I can constrict cpu usage so Spybot S&D will use less
than 100% of available cpu cycles?

I have 4 fully functional fans in my system case. Running Speedfan 4.3 I
monitor cpu temp for years. I have no problems except with Spybot in
the warmer weather.

'Twere necessary to abort Spybot tonite as cpu temp progressed from
76 to 77 F. I suspect the little Prescott will burn up at something
like 80 F.

Any/all help much appreciated.

Thanks, but no help.

I suppose I won't be running any Spybot scans until maybe Oct. 2009, if then.

Have you rebooted your machine?
Do you have any other memory intensive programs running?
I just found it odd that Spybot uses max CPU...
