Spybot will not run

I had Spybot 1.6.2 installed, last updated about 7 days ago.
Today I uploaded Google Chrome and the latest Spybot updates.
I got a warning from Windows Defender about a trojan, when I asked Defender to remove the threat Opera started up (without me asking for it) and I then got pop-ups for WinPC Antivirus.
Defender has removed Win32/FakeRean and Win32/Insebro.C
However, Spybot would not run, I have uninstalled and re-installed Spybot without success.

I have now uninstalled Spybot, loadeda and run ERUNT and HJT, log follows:

Hello Derrick, posted above and pinned (sticky) to the top of this forum are the directions, if you already read them, you completely missed the directions for installing HijackThis properly, so start by correcting that:

HiJackThis log - Trend Micro HijackThis 2.0.2 <<< start here
follow those direction, then HJT will be here:
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis
NOT in your downloads folder where logs and backups can easily be lost or deleted.

2) Do not try to install Spybot S&D until I tell you to.

3) Once HJT is placed correctly, please post a new complete HJT log without the header missing.
Notepad > Edit > Select All > copy/paste the highlited information.

4) Post also an uninstall list: Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

Hi Phil
Thanks for your reply.
I could not get Hijack This to install.
On startup, I got a message saying Google Installer could not run.
I sent the report to Microsoft, which then directed me to Google,
which gave me a link to instructions to remove UACD.sys
I have followed these, which has now allowed me to correctly install HJT.

Thanks for the feedback, I misunderstood that Spybot was not installed, you need to read the "Before you Post" instructions carefully, they plainly start TeaTimer needs to be disabled?

To be sure, let's start like this.

1) We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:
* Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
* If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
* On the left hand side, Click on Tools
* Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
* Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
* Restart your computer.
(leave TT disabled until we finish)

2) A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use

It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Ok:
1) I had uninstalled Spybot, when I tried to reinstall it wouldn't. Therefore I had no way of stopping TeaTimer, and noted the instruction not to install Spybot until instructed. But apparently it was installed but not activated (?) so I have now launched it, gone through the initialisation and turned off TeaTimer as instructed!

3) I have downloaded updates for: Adobe Flash Player 10.0.22.87;
Adobe Reader 9.1; and Mozilla Firefox 3.0.10.
I will install these after posting this, as the Flash Player does not like me running Opera while it is trying to install.

Thanks for the feedback, let's proceed like this.

1) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

2) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

3) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

*Cleaning Prefetch may result in a few slow starts until the folder is repopulated:

(If you still have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, no reason to download again, but be sure to update the program and run it as directed)

4) Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your Desktop

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
* Please post contents of that file & a new HJT log in your next reply.

Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

Remove combofix from the computer like this:

Click START then RUN
Now type or copy Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK.
Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.

Clean the System Restore files like this:

Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Reboot

Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.


Update MBAM and scan to be sure we missed none of the junk, there is no need to post a clean scan result.
(MBAM is yours to keep if you wish, keep it updated and run it once a month or so)

Update AVG8 and scan the system, to be sure it is running right and scanning clean.
