Is there an incompatibility between firefox and spybot when firefox is open for long periods of time? I have experienced firefox freezing and spybot's teatimer using a massive amount of CPU(memory). I cannot open firefox because it keeps the process running and when i shut down the computer the system slows down and takes about 5 minutes or so to shut down.

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 and have AVG Free (8.5.339), Zonealarm Free(8.0.298), Adaware Free (8.0.5), and Spywareblaster(4.2). Would any of these cause the problem? I have since uninstalled Spybot and the problem has gone away.

Thanks for the help!:)

The Firefox protection is independent of TeaTimer, so I don't see any problems there.

The Firefox process that stays in the background when you close it is something I know as well, with or without immunization. Did so far blame it on some Firofox addon, but was too lazy to test them one by one to find which one..
