Hello.
My wife updated her Spybot Search & Destroy today - from a Canadian mirror - and when she started it up afterwards, samsvc.exe was immediately flagged as "Trojan horse Generic13.BEAG". (File noted as used by process "C:\program files\spybot - search & destroy\spybotSD.exe"
I haven't found any information on the trojan in question - which isn't surprising, AVG doesn't publish a very good virus encyclopedia - nor have I found any reports of false positives being flagged.
So, I'm wondering: can anyone here help me determine whether AVG has a false positive, or if my spybot S&D is actually infected?
(I should mention, AVG also flagged a .png file from the MSIE Temporary Internet Files folder as being infected with the same trojan - and this one is noted as in use by an Ad-Aware service.)
Thanks,
Remi.
