Internet explorer not opening pages

Hi
My IE 8 is not able to open pages . I unintalled and reintalled IE8 from microsoft website and still the problem has not been fixed. When I did a complete scan of my pc at the microsoft website it found 2 registry errrs but was not able to fix them.
My computer has been infected in the past by viruses(Trojan, virtumonde etc) and I just restored my pc and ran some free antivirus programms.
Please help me I have very limited knowledge of these issues.
