Spybot very slow

I downloaded something yesterday (which I really should have left alone) and it really messed with the computer. Lots of things ran very slow, if they worked at all, and my Symantec AV was unable to "complete remediation." :oops:
I was all set to do a Windows re-install this morning, I was so looking forward to it, but an ERUNT restore appears to have done the trick. Until ...
Usually Spybot scans my system in around 15 minutes, just now it took 50 minutes so I still have a problem.

Good question, I ended up reinstalling Windows, I know, life in the fast lane.
Spybot now functions as it used to. :D:
