w32/Stanit?

Greetings,

Antivir seems to say that files are infected with W32/stanit. And the list of file infected seems to grow.

I can't seem to find any info on this threat here or at Antivir site.

What is this virus and how dangerous is it? How to remove?

Help, the list of files is growing.

Greetings,

Hijack log below. Ran Spybot as instructed. I also installed panda antivirus and antivir.
Although these two cleaned out some files, if my computer is left idle, Antivir will find one or two .exe files that it says are infected with w32/stanit (not w32/stanit.A). I press 'delete' but a day later, the warning comes on again. Panda antivirus caught Tenga.A in some files but has been silent since cleaning up, but Antivir will alert a file after a few hours or so. I am permanently connected to broadband line whenever the computer is on, at least 12 hours a day if not more.

First thing to do is uninstall all but one antivirus, even if one is disabled other components can and do conflict with the other av porogram..

After uninstalling one post a new hiajckthis log.

Id like to see a list of files there locations and what they are called by antivir

Thanks for the response.
I have uninstalled Antivir and kept PandaSoftware.
Panda keeps saying it has blocked an intrusion attempt and I had to disable the notify me preference. How do I turn it back on?

ipclamp is a software lock for my plug-in software from Cebas Germany (link: http://www.finalrender.com/) for my Autodesk 3d Studio Max software.

There are very cool pictures at finalrender.com. I believe 3d Studio Max also uses ipclamp.

Just as I was replying your post, three virus windows popped up (attached screengrab). I'm quite sure my pc was reported clean yesterday when I scanned with Panda and Antivir.

This is what has been happenning over the last week or so, does it mean I have something lurking in my PC? Even if my computer is left idle with internet connected, I get pop-up windows that alert me of PC intrusion or Viral attack.

I thought viral infection only occurs when you launch a file?

W32/Tenga-A is a virus for Windows based systems.
W32/Tenga-A infects Windows executable files on all drives it can find other than drive A:. W32/Tenga-A also attempts to infect files on network resources.
W32/Tenga-A tries to download and run a file from a remote server. At the time of writing this file is detected as Troj/Penta-A (http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojpentaa.html).
W32/Tenga-A attempts to disable Windows File Protection.
W32/Tenga-A attempts to infect files at randomly chosen IP addresses via NetBIOS.
W32/Tenga-A also attempts to connect to a pre-specified server and spawn a remote command prompt that can receive further commands from a remote intruder.

Personaly I would consider formating ALL the pc's drives and starting over
Or perhaps temporaraly uninstalling panda (since it doesnt seem to work in the instance) install kaspersky or nod32 update and run it in safe mode, scan all your drives and let it clean anything found.

Yes, it;s networked with another computer normally but networking is broken at the moment.

Formatting and starting over is not an option as there are lots of original highend software installed and going through the process of explaining why I need to reformat and getting authorization codes again is a kind of hell I wish on no one.

Panda blocked another Intrusion attempt, calling it "an Invalid tcp ip flag" or something like that. Would permanently disconnecting this computer from the internet stop tenga from further infecting my files?

If its was networked since infected all the other pcs are probaly infected to.

I uninstalled Panda and installed Kapersky, it caught an infected file 'dmmax.exe'. After restarting and going online, Kapersky gave this message about 20 mins later:
Intrusion.Win.MSSQL.worm.Helkern Source: 59.39.71.7 Protocol: UDP Local Port: 1434.

Does this mean I'm on some sort of vindictive hacker's list? I've never had intrusion alerts before this w32/stanit infection. Or maybe my previous antivirus wasn't working, therefore the lack of intrusion alerts?

Are these kind of intrusion warnings normal on your computer? Please bear with my questions as I am trying to put my mind more at ease.

Did you do a full system scan while in safe mode with Kaspersky ?

I suggest installing Ewido to, it wont conflict with your other program's, run it in safe mode to this time.
