1) The virus log is pointing at an infected System Restore file:
C:\System Volume Information\_restore{129201FA-B0AC-49B3-96B2-DEB8B91E727B}\RP16\A0000251.dll
Follow these directions to clean your System Restore files:

Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Reboot

Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2) The version of MBAM is are running is VERY old:
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.36
Database version: 1945

This is the newest version: 1.37
(Database 2271 Date 6/12/2009)

Open MBAM > Click the Update tab > click Check for Updates > allow MBAM to download and install the newest version.
Click the > Perform Full Scan > follow these directions with the exception of the download instructions.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your Desktop
http://www.malwarebytes.org/

http://www.besttechie.net/mbam/mbam-setup.exe <<< download

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
* Please post contents of that file & a new HJT log in your next reply.

Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

3) Post also an uninstall list: Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

Please follow the directions carefully and in the numbered order.

1) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

2) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

3) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

4) You must get MBAM completely up to date, this is where you scanned:
Database version: 2182

This is the database at this moment: (Database 2273 Date 6/13/2009)
The items in the database are updated as folks in the field see malware in the logs, so it important you always run the newest database.

Post the results of that scan.

Please tell me how the computer is running now.

I can't update to the newest version: *1.37* (*Database 2271 Date 6/12/2009*) because the infected computer will not connect to the internet. I keep getting an error message.

OK, we may have to use the computer you are on to bring tools to the infected computer, but first let's see if we can get you on line.

1) Please post the error message you get "Word for Word". Do the same for any and all error messages.

2) Are you using a router? if so see this:

Sounds like I have a Zlob Trojan.
I've downloaded the Virustotal software but have no way of scanning without internet connection on the infected computer.

Try connecting without the router, direct to the modem.

Virustotal is the program referred to in the article regarding Zlog Trojan (DNSChanger).

I've tried getting on-line with IE and Firefox, no joy.

I started have problems connecting after i got the cryp morphine virus.

The link about router infections was posted for the information so you would know that possibly that is your problem and be aware of the possibility. Please understand that the hackers constantly change how they infect computer and two infections are rarely just alike.

Have you asked your Internet Service Provider to see if tech support can help get the computer online. There are things we can try but it is what they do and any changes we make could make it harder for them. You can try these but I strongly suggest you have ISP tech support try first.

Yes, i go the same error message on both browsers.
