Please note that all instructions given are customised for this computer only, the tools used may cause damage if used on a computer with different infections.

Hi thefishbane :)

I'm Dakeyras and I am going to try to assist you with your problem. Please take note of the below:

I will start working on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine!.
The process is not instant. Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine is clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
Refrain from running self fixes as this will hinder the malware removal process.
It may prove beneficial if you print of the following instructions or save them to notepad as I post them.
Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use. Be assured, any links I give are safe.
Next:

Please download Rooter.exe (http://forums.whatthetech.com/redirect.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Feric.71.mespages.googlepages.com%2FRooter.exe) to your desktop.

Then double-click Rooter.exe it to start the tool.
A Notepad file containing the report will open, also found at %systemdrive%\Rooter.txt. Post that here.
Next:

We need to carry out a more indepth research of you system as follows:

Please download Random's System Information Tool by random/random from here (http://images.malwareremoval.com/random/RSIT.exe) and save it to your desktop.

Make sure that RSIT.exe is on the your Desktop before running the application!

Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
Once it has finished, two logs will open:

log.txt will be opened maximized.
info.txt will be opened minimized.
Please post the contents of both log.txt and info.txt.
When completed the above, please post back the following:

Inform myself how your computer is running. Any problems encountered and or further symptoms?
Rooter.txt
Both RSIT Logs. <-- Post them individually please. IE: one Log per post/reply.

I think things went from bad to worse. Now I cannot get through the initial boot up. I get the blue screen and it says Stop: c000021a Fatal system error The system manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000026c (0x00000000 0x00000000).
System shut down.

I tried a couple of time with the same result and I tried once in safe mode. No success booting the system.

Hi :)

A unexpected turn of events indeed, not to worry at this stage please try the below first:

Reboot into Safe Mode:

How to boot into Safe Mode:

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap the F8 key. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode, do so.

If any problems refer to this tutorial. (http://www.malwareremoval.com/tutorials/safemodeboot.php)

Next:

In Safe Mode when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears use the Arrow(On the number pad part of the keyboard)keys to select Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked), and then press the Enter/Return key.

Also do you have a Genuine Windows XP CD-ROM or can borrow one from a family member/friend at all if the need arises?

Let myself know the outcome before proceeding any further please.

Hi :)

I would like for your good self to download the below please:

Avira AntiVir Rescue System (http://www.free-av.com/en/tools/12/avira_antivir_rescue_system.html)

Then burn it to either a blank DVD or CD-ROM.

After that place it in the CD drive of your infected machine and see if will boot-up correctly. If it does post back please and we can proceed from there.

Boy, there is something really wrong here. It would not boot up with the boot cd. Same system error.

Hi :)

Not looking good at all I'm afraid. I am actually leaning to-wards this may be a hardware related problem now also.

I would like to you run one final test please however utilizing your Dell re-installation XP CD-ROM as follows:

Boot from your Windows XP CD:-

Insert the Windows XP CD into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
then restart your computer
When the "Press any key to boot from CD" message appears on the screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD
A blue screen will appear and begin loading Windows XP Setup from the CD
Note: If your can't boot from your CD you will need to reconfigure the BIOS settings to enable boot from the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM. If not sure how to do so please inform me OK.

Now hopefully a blue screen will appear and begin loading Windows XP Setup from the CD. If it does merely press F3 and your computer should automatically shutdown. If this does not occur but rather the same system error again it is indeed hardware related but we will cross that bridge if we come to it.

No luck booting from CD. Looks like it might be a hardware thing.

Hi :)

It does look like it is a hardware related issue. Unfortunately because I am primarily Anti-Malware support I do not provide assistance with hardware related issues I'm afraid.

I think the actual problem may be related to a failed memory module and or possibly the motherboard itself. The best advice I can give is to either take the computer to your local IT Repair Centre or create a account at one of the following forums and post in the appropriate section.

By all means include a link back to this topic:
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=317838#post317838
I am a member of both of the below myself and they have outstanding IT Tech Support Staff:

Any questions do not hesitate to ask.
