Hope I'm posting in the right sub-forum... If not, I apologize.
Long story short:
Spybot stopped working, I uninstalled it, then discovered I had trojans blocking me from the server. AVG told me I had a Trojan injector in my rootkit, but wouldn't get rid of it... anyways, I eventually fixed all of by following the advice on this thread (http://forum.sysinternals.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=19306&PN=1) at Sysinternals.
Everything is working fine again, I can connect to safer-networking and download Spybot... but when I try to re-install, I get as far as "Rolling back changes", and the following pops up:
C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy \ advcheck.dll
The existing file is marked as read-only.
Click Retry to remove the read-only attribute and try again, Ignore to skip this file, or Abort to cancel installation.
So... should I Retry, or Ignore?
