Help! Spybot won't open!

I have uninstalled/reinstalled, 3 different times and it still won't open when I click on it. The icon was in the taskbar but when I exited out of it to try and open it again, it won't. When I uninstalled this last time, I also deleted it from registry...but when I installed it again, same problems. I have avg 8.5 and it's not detecting any spyware, but I also know S&D picks up things it won't. I've used it in the past with no problems and have LOVED it....but in the past couple months, the program has stopped opening. I used the cool search removal tool recommended on this website and it said the spyware wasnt found...so that's not the problem. I tried using micro trend online, but it wouldn't work either. Except for spybot not opening, I haven't had any other problems/signs of a virus or spyware. Any suggestions?

sometimes Malware (like Rootkits) block Spybot from working. :sad:

What you can try:

1) Try to open and run Spybot in safe mode (http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml).

2) Rename the Spybot exe file into RobinM.exe. It may help you.

3) If Step # 1 and 2 didn't help you, you should open your own thread in the Malware Removal Forum (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22). Don't forget to follow these instructions (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288).
