The saga continues...
I have a new problem. I have something stopping me from opening Spybot, and any other spyware app - nor can any of them update their definitions.

Don't know what to do here. I have tried various solutions. System restore is not restoring. I installed Defender, and this wont update to work properly. (cant download definitions either)

I am about to throw this PC out the window.

Thoughts/Help?

Thanks for the heads up - I will try to learn how to get a HJT file/log. I will return in a few minutes.

Bad - Remove almost always
OK Most of the time - don't need to touch
Probably not needed - Safe to remove
Generally harmless - third party applications
Bad if you don't know what it is
Unknown Item - Investigate further

Not sure if I am doing this correctly - is HJT an online application, or am I supposed to download something to check/compile log?

Download the Installer from here (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis/download).

If you can't open it, rename the file into Tristanirons.exe and try again.
