I'm thinking of starting a small business in tech support and PC repair/tune-up. That would mean I'm no longer a personal user according to most EULAs.

I'd be using my laptop on the job to create rescue disks with up to date antivirus/antispyware definitions (I don't have a shop and the means to purchase/rent/lease one, so I'd have to make house calls).

Would I have to pay for a business license if I did this?

Hello,

Yes you would need to purchase a license.

Spybot Search and Destroy is only free for the private use.
The license agreement is available here (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/paragraphs/spybotsd_license1.html).

Corporate users need to purchase a license.

Some more information is available on www.safer-networking.ie

Thank you for the link.

Something I can't find on the corporate page: is it a permanent license or a yearly subscription?

Hello,

The license is valid one year including updates of definition files. Updates of program files are included such as bug fixes and subversion upgrades (i.e 2.0 -> 2.1). Additional years license and update subscription are half the price of the actual first years fee.
