Hello everyone!
I have tried to update Spybot S&D after not using it for over a week and having problems with my computer. Now I cannot get it to update. I get an error message as follows: "Error retrieving update info file!" Then another message comes up with the following: "System Error. Code: 5. Acces is denied"
The problems that I had with my computer were: some updates for Windows Vista would not install properly due to interence from McAfee's programs. So I had to unistall McAfee programs and then fix some of the Window Vista System files that were either corrupted, missing, or had some missing info. Then I had to do a clean reboot, then download and install the updates. Then reboot my computer in normal mode. Then Download and reinstall Mcafee. It took 8 1/2 hours to complete. All with the help of a Microsoft Computer Tech. Most of that time the Tech shared control of my computer to help diagnose what was wrong and causing my problems.
I do not know if any what we did during that may have had an affect on Spybot or not. My other programs were able to update normally, except Spybot.
