View Full Version : Trojan infection and help removing files detected by RootAnalyzer

Hello,

I believe I'm infected with some kind of trojan. It redirected my DNS and Spybot S&D and Malwarebytes Anti-malware wouldn't run. I managed to remove some files identified by Kaspersky's online scanner which allowed Malwarebytes Anti-malware to run. It then detected a few more infected files and removed them. However Spybot S&D still won't run. It just sits in the process tree and never displays. I downloaded RootAlyzer and it found some files in C:\windows\system32 but I can't see them to delete them. Any help someone can provide would be greatly appreciated. The logs are below. Please note that MyApp.exe is actually HijackThis. I had to rename it in order to get it to run. I have also included the RootAlyzer log as it shows the "hidden" files.

Much thanks! :D

I managed to get a new HijackThis log before my system froze (I can only last a minute or two in normal boot mode before my system freezes). Here it is:

We will continue with ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:
This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.
ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used unless requested by a forum helper

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
If you need help to disable your protection programs see here. (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html)

When finished, it will produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Hi shaba,

I have to apologize. I also posted on GeeksToGo and Sysinternals forums. It's since been pointed out to me that I shouldn't have posted to multiple forums (for what I now realize are obvious reasons, heh). I'm very sorry for any trouble this causes.

I'm not sure what you'd like to do with this thread now. I am going to run ComboFix when I get home and I can post the log here if you like. Or you can close this thread and I can continue with one of the ones on the other sites and just return if I'm still having troubles.

Again, I'm very sorry for this. I'm sure you and the people who help with malware are stretched very thin and I did not intend to tie up multiple people, nor complicate one person's help by doing tasks from others. I just wanted to get my computer fixed

My apologies.

Thanks

Shaba

Well you will need to decide where you will continue.

Due to the lack of feedback this Topic is closed.

If it has been four days or more since your last post, and the helper assisting you posted a response to that post to which you did not reply, your topic will not be reopened. At that point, if you still require help, please start a new topic and include a fresh HijackThis log and a link to your previous thread.

If it has been less than four days since your last response and you need the thread re-opened, please send a private message (pm). A valid, working link to the closed topic is required.

Everyone else please begin a New Topic.
