View Full Version : Nowhere to turn, dont make me reinstall!

2005-11-16, 04:55
so heres the Jist. I do alot of video and digital editing on my box. I listen to music, check email... my box does pretty great for my standards...
athlon 2400 786mb ram.

Until that is, two weeks ago when something happened. Box takes anywhere from 2-3 minutes to start up (if it doesnt give me boot errors on the first try, which is now often) programs like photoshop take minutes to load, and even winamp stutters with no other programs running (besides backgrounds, which are minimal but they were always there BEFORE too) Extracting from Winrar is absolutely 5 times longer than it used to be. Its agonizing. Multitasking has suddenly become impossible, and for no reason I can currently find.
S+D is completely updated
Ive run Housecall
Trojan hunter (one entry... windows/system32/strings.exe which the net seems to think is fine)
Trojan remover
Spy Sweeper

Ive found very little since I keep it pretty clean, usually. Ive nowhere to turn. My page file is clean and I cant find any weird processes except a weird "_wowexec.exe" which I havent seen in a few days now...

Im going to post a HJT log and if you can see anything let me know... Ive done Sisoft sandra diagnostics on hardware and still come up nil... and no I cant remember installing anything out of the ordinary.... please, any suggestions are more than welcome!
