I've been using Google's browser recently and have noticed that it doesn't appear to be immunized. Perhaps I'm wrong, but S&D finds spyware almost nightly after I've been surfing with GC.

Any thoughts? Thanks!:)

Hello,

I am sorry, but Chrome is only being supported in scanning and fixing at the moment.
It is a very new browser and chrome itself does not offer any interface for immunizing yet.

I am a huge fan of Firefox but the latest update had a few bugs. Therefore I installed Google Chrome on my HP mini. I like the browser, but I am wondering if there is something I can do regarding scans until Spybot includes this in its database. Should I just do a scan after each browsing session? I appreciate you help.
This is a great site; I only wish I could use my own avatar!

Should I just do a scan after each browsing session?
If you have a lot of time on your hands that is. I wouldn't suggest running a scan each time because it is redundant. I'd rather use those 10-20 minutes during that Spybot-Search&Destroy scan to take a nap or grab a snack :oreo:.

If you wish, you can always clear your cookies or cache after a browsing session rather than scan every time. For me, I simply scan with Spybot every week following the latest updates.

OK... It's now been quite a long time since Chrome came on. Is there now any way to add Chrome to the immunization options?

Thanks!

Could you please tell me if this is still the case?

I believe it is,since I have chrome installed,and it isn't showing in immunization. :)

I'm also using GC. Can you recommend an alternative browser if it still isn't immunized? I'd prefer something that works with SpyBot. :thanks:

The main browser I use myself is Firefox. There is Spybot immunization for Firefox. :)

So, I have a further Google related comment that just came to mind. I have been using Gmail for about about four years now and haven't had any issues with it until recently. But now two of my contacts, also on Gmail, have had thier accounts hijacked (I think?) and unintentionally sent me 'follow this link' emails which I assume might lead to malware or a virus. My other email option at the moment is the personalised email address related to my .com domain from these guys (http://www.1and1.co.uk/email-address) (not sure if you need the link to answer my question, but there it is!) which I haven't really used so far. In general, is this type of email hosting safer than web-based hosting?
Also: thinking about a SpyBot / McAfee email security combo...

thanks!! carol(ling) :cowboy:

I'm not familiar with 1and1 email options, that's the first I've heard of 1and1 itself,so I can't really comment on it's safety. That's not to say it is or isn't better, just that I'm totally unfamiliar with it. :)
If you scroll down to the 'How secure is my data when I get an email address with 1&1 Mail Basic & Mail Business?' section on the page,it tells how it employs full SSL-certified encryption:
http://www.1and1.co.uk/email-address

For gmail, there is a security checklist here:

But now two of my contacts, also on Gmail, have had thier accounts hijacked (I think?) and unintentionally sent me 'follow this link' emails which I assume might lead to malware or a virus.
This might be helpful for those two contacts,if you wish to send it to them, especially the 'My contacts say I sent spam to them, or I found suspicious access to my account':

I hope that in the near future support for GC will be available. I really prefer this browser since it's almost bug free ( I never had problems with it), has good addons and is probably the fastest browser available.
