View Full Version : tea timer settings - can't get there
I have found the answer to my original problem several places. However they all start with "right click on the tea timer icon in the system tray and select settings"
Finding the icon is easy
right click is easy
however the thing I blacklisted by mistake is very persistent and it keeps popping up notifications. so just as I see the settings option and start to move my mouse pointer there, the menu box disappears to be replaced with 2-6 pop up notification boxes.
is there another way to get to these settings to remove something from the blacklist?
This may be somewhere else on the forum but I have been looking for over an hour and can't find anything.
I had that happen before,I just can't remember how I got around it.
If you have the new version of Spybot I think you can rightclick and select reset lists, older version it might be a little more difficult.
Which version of Spybot do you have, and what operating system do you have?
Could you open Spybot, click Mode->Advanced Mode->Tools->Resident,and in the window to the right, rightclick and select Select All,then rightclick and select Copy, then Paste the teatimer log here.
The log was way too big. . . When I tried to put it in before it said limit to 64000. What I had was more than 3,664,000.
So this is the part that repeats and repeats and repeats. If you need something different, I will try to find the part you need if you can give me a hint or what I can cut out that will help.
Thank you for your help.

No,that's exactly the part of the Teatimer log I wanted to see. :)
What you blacklisted is listed as AVG Security Toolbar BHO.
Also, looks like you might have an older version of Spybot, the latest is 1.6.2.46,but let's try to get Teatimer settled down first.
Try rightclicking Spybot,select Run as administrator,then click Mode->Advanced Mode->Tools->Resident.Uncheck Resident "Teatimer".Wait a minute or so,then recheck it.
If the Teatimer notifications have stopped, continue on to rightclicking Teatimer, selecting Settings and editing the black & white list.
If that doesn't work,I'll see what else I can come up with. :)
once you showed me how to get to the log, there was a place to turn tea timer off. . . .apparently long enough for AVG to change what it wanted to change. . . . .so when tea timer restarted, the messages were gone. . . .and I could get to settings to remove it from the black list.
Thank you soooooo much. . . ..
I couldn't get anywhere or do much of anything because the pop-ups were taking up almost all of the ram.
Good,glad it worked. :)
Please open Spybot,click Help,then About.
If your version of Spybot is lower than 1.6.2.46,you might want to uninstall and then update to the newest version.
