View Full Version : multipul problems after fake spybot remover downloaded

OK about a monthago I was online and came across a sight that downloaded a fake spybot remover onto my computer (unfortiantly I can no longer remember what the sight was or what the spybot thing was called). I dissabled the internet connection and ran an antivirus scan (AVG Free) it came up with six infections the first time and trhee the second time, I think I ran Spybot as well but I'm not certain, I also had AdwareAlert at the time but I couldn't get it to run. Ever since then I've been having multipul problems:
1. One out of every three times I start windows it goes to the blue screen and I have to restart the system. It will usually only do this once but occationally it does it up to three times in a row before I can get it to work.
2. About once every ten times or so that I start windows it will freeze up. Usually it does so shortly after the icons next to the clock begin appear but before the wireless internet icon shows up as well. However it has on occation frozen up during the windows startup screen.
3. Every now and then if I have Internet Explorer open all of my open programs will suddenly shut down. When and why it does this I'm not sure as there didn't seem to be a patern other than IE being open at the same time.
4. I can no longer open to the Spybot main panel so I can't run scans or immunise. I still seem to be able to update and teatimer is still running but I just can't access the main pannel(I also recently tried downloading Combofix and it seems to be having the same issue of not being able to open the main page). Note: I tryed running the "Fixes" I found on this sight to see if I could get Spybot's main panel to open and they didn't work.
5. Everytime I open IE I get the message that it had been improperly shut down and given the option to restart from last location or open to home page. If I try opening from last location it ends up opening two more windows and they all have the "Internet Explorer could not connect" page open.
6. I could no longer run the Defrag program and instead get an error message saying it could not start.
7. When I run AVG it seems to work for a while then after about an hour when it's near finished the entire computer freezes up.
8. I have the Nortan System on my trash can and normally if you right click on it there is a section called "Empty Nortan Protected Files", however I've noticed that since the problems started that section has remained empty.
9. I deleted AdwareAlert when it stopped working and went to reload it but the program would not reload properly. In addition when I check Add Remove Programs it shows there are still 9.86 MB of that program on the system, but any attempt to delete it from there doesn't work and I can not find where these files are located.
10. When I attempt to play a computer game (Age of Empires 3, Midieval 2 Total War) the game will load through the intros but just as it gets to the main screen it goes to the blue screen and has to be reset.
(sorry if that was long winded but I wanted to post everything I noticed in hopes I could help to find what was wrong).
I've tried a bounch of different things to fix these problems but nothing seems to be working and I was hoping you guys might be able to figure out what's causing the problem.
I have HijackThis and a log file saved but I'm not sure if I'm suposed to post it here, right now or what. So for now I'll just wait until I get a responce before posting it.

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance) http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.
You must have read and followed the "Before you Post" instructions.
Appears you have many issues, I will do all I can to help, but do not expect fast or easy. We will start like this.
1) You are running two antivirus programs at the same time and this is not a good thing.
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2000031316555206
"Microsoft recommends that you have only one anti-virus program installed on your computer."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/03/AR2005120300087.html
http://www.smartcomputing.com/editorial/article.asp?article=articles/2003/s1407/38s07/38s07.asp
AVG8 and Symantec/Norton <<< uninstall one of those completely from the computer.
2) If Windows provides you with any error messages, please post those "word for word".
3) Right click MyComputer then click Properties. On the General tab in the lower right corner is the RAM count, post that information.
4) Read the "Before you Post" directions very carefully, TeaTimer is not disabled as directed. Please make sure it is disabled in the next HijackThis log you post.
5) Post also an uninstall list: Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

Recap: Once you are running one anti-virus program, post any information I requested, the uninstall list and a new HijackThis log.
Thanks

Couple updates first. For one I was successfully able to run a AVG Virus scan, it picked up several warning files, which I deleted, but no viruses. Two, I haven't had a blue screen in start up for some time, not to say it might not still happen, however the screen still flickers and goes to the blue screen when I try to play a game. Three, I remembered I downloaded Window's Steadystate before I found this sight thinking it could help with the problems, instead it's been an even greater irratation. Because of that I can't even start windows defrag ontop of the fact that defrag isn't working properly. If you happen to know how to undo what Steadystate has done I'd be apreachative, if not, oh well.
1. I do not have the anti-virus portion of Nortan installed on my computer (that I am aware of). I'm simply using it for the clean up tools. If you want me to completely delete it for this proccess I'll gladly do it.
2. I have not seen any error messages in a while, but if one pops up I'll write it down asap. However when it does go to the blue screen I know when I attempt to report the file I get a report saying the file was corrupted and could not be read.
3. Dell DIMENSION DIM470 Intel(R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz 2.79 GHz, 512 MB of Ram
4. Sorry thought I had dissabled it. I can't open spybot so I can't do anything directly but I don't see Teatimer in the running processes so I'll try again. If it is still running you'll have to let me know how to dissable it as I'm not sure how I would.

Moonwars was downloaded from Gametap, and Smutropolis downloaded itself why back when I first got this computer. As far as I can tell they don't their not related to this issue.

Sorry forgot to delete Nortan before posting the log. Just to note: When I restarted after deleting Nortan I got the blue screen flowed by two computer freezes before I could get going again.
Also I just remembered every now and then I get a Spybot message about something called www.abcsearch.com. It showed up just before the first time it froze so I wasn't able to record all the info, but the next time it apears I'll write down everything it says and post it here.
Anywho here's the HJT log after nortan delete:

If you have not taken the time to read the links concerning what happens when two antivirus programs run at the same time, please do so. I do not care if you run Symantec or AVG but if I am to continue, there must be only one running on the computer.

Not sure if you had noticed, but I had made two posts between the last time you posted. I tried to get the info updated as quickly as I could, but do to issues stated in the second post it took me a while and you may have already been reading the first post before I could get to the second. Just incase I'm quoting the important part of the second post here.
Sorry forgot to delete Nortan before posting the log. Just to note: When I restarted after deleting Nortan I got the blue screen flowed by two computer freezes before I could get going again.
Also I just remembered every now and then I get a Spybot message about something called www.abcsearch .com. It showed up just before the first time it froze so I wasn't able to record all the info, but the next time it apears I'll write down everything it says and post it here.
As for the updates:
I'm aware my RAM is low, however due to budget restraints I'm unable to purchas a new RAM card, and due to the old age of my computer I'll probably simply by a new one rather than update. However, thank you for that data.
PSI has been installed and the systems it noted have been updated.
Adobe Flash and Adobe Reader have been updated.
Shockwave has been updated.
Bitlord has been deleted.
Browser Optimizer Adssite has been deleted
Viewpoint Media Player has been deleted.
All out dated Java's have been deleted (question: do I need to unistall and then reinstall update14 or was deleting the old ones enough?)
I deleted the Ask Toolbar However I would like to note when I tried to delete it I got a message saying I had to shut down all IE windows first. I did and when I tried again I got the same message so I went into Task Manager and ended all IExplorer aplications running, after that I was able to delete the Ask Toolbar without a problem. I did however notice when I restarted the computer two IExplorer applications apear in the task manager processes tab even before I opened any files.
As for AdwareAlert, I had uninstalled it earlier when the problems first began on the computer (I had had the program for over a year before without any noticable problems) due to the fact it seemed to have stopped working. However it still apears on the add/remove programs screen. When I attempt to delete it I get this message: Fatal error occurrred removing driver: UnistallFilterDriver: LoadLib: The specified module could not be found. followed by a second message: Fatal error during installation. when I click the OK button.

All out dated Java's have been deleted (question: do I need to unistall and then reinstall update14 or was deleting the old ones enough?)
No, Java(TM) 6 Update 14 is the newest version. PSI should indicate that or you can check that here:
http://www.javatester.org/version.html
I see you have this installed, do you have multiple uers on the computer?
C:\Program Files\Windows SteadyState
I personally run SpywareBlaster and never see it running in my HJT logs, it is running in yours? Are you paying for auto-updates?
C:\Program Files\SpywareBlaster\spywareblaster.exe
Let's do some cleaning and start our look for any hidden malware like this.
1) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.
2) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dell4me.com/myway
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://bfc.myway.com/search/de_srchlft.html
(if this entry is valid you can leave it, see what I get when I search it)

(you may leave this if you are positive it is safe)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"
3) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
*Cleaning Prefetch may result in a few slow starts until the folder is repopulated:
http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Gaining-Speed-Empty-Prefetch-XP.html
4) Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your Desktop
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
* Please post contents of that file & a new HJT log in your next reply.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

Steady State: No I am the only user on this computer, I downloaded the program thinking it was an anti-spyware system. I deleted it once but discoved even after deleting most of the changes the program made were still in effect so I reinstalled it to try and see if I could change them back but I couldn't figure out how. If possible I'd like to try and undo the changes that program made.
SpywareBlaster: Yes I have the program and it is running, however I shut it off along with Windows Defender when I ran the HTJ scans as I thought they might interfear with the scan like Teatimer does. I'll leave them on this time however.
ATF Cleaner: Downloaded and ran.
Hyjackthis removals: Complete, http://vermillion.mchsionline.net/community/ I am aware of and have left on my computer on purpuse. http://archives.gametap.com/static/c...WebUpdater.cab I downloaded that directly from Gametap when they changed operating systems so I'm 99.5% sure it's safe.
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware: I saved the file and attempted to to install. However every time double clicked on the instal file I would get the hour glass for a few seconds but nothing would happen. I opened task manager and found mbam-setup.exe Tyler W 00 2,804K in the processes screen once for every time I attempted to open the program(four in total as I tryed to open the file four times). Deleted the download (I had to end the processes manually first before I could), then reinstalled it with the same result. I even restarted the computer and attempted to install again with once again the same results.
note: After deleting the HJT files you noted and deleting the AOL toolbar I reset the cumputer and ended up getting the blue screen (it occured around the time the icons finished loading in the lower right part of the taskbar. It seems the blue screen apears most often after either installing or uninstalling a program. I should also note while writing this note section my IE window shut down for some reason (thankfully I had been smart enough to copy my post as I wrote so I didn't lose everything I had written ;) ).
I don't have the malware log since I couldn't get it to run but here is the updated HJT log:

Good news I managed to download malwarebytes from a link I found in the thread Cant run spybot, redirected search issues , and after reading Shaba's advice on that thread to rename the .exe I managed to get the program to run. On top of that, after rebooting the system I managed to get the main page of Spybot to open.

I know abolutely nothing about this program and suggest you uninstall it if you don't know what it is.
C:\Program Files\Windows SteadyState
If you have questions about un-doing anything it changed on your computer, you should find the answers here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/sharedaccess/support/default.mspx
Remove this line with HijackThis:
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - *{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)
C:\WINDOWS\system32\uacinit.dll (Trojan.Agent) -> Delete on reboot.
Did you allow MBAM to reboot to complete the removal of this item?
I would like to see the results of a scan by your antivirus program like this:
* Right click the icon for AVG in System Tray and choose Open AVG User Interface.
* Click on Update now, allow AVG to download and install any new updates.
* Click on Computer Scanner then choose "Scan whole computer", this takes a round one hour on the computer I am using now.
* Near the bottom above the words "The scan is complete" choose "Export overview to file"
* Choose Desktop and give it a name you will recognize like AVG Scan Results, then choose SAVE.
* Close results and close the Interface.
* Copy and paste the contents of that file only.
How is this computer running now?
Thanks

The R3 Line has been deleted.
Yes I rebooted after running MBAM. I forgot to put it in my last post but just after rebooting before the icons or the taskbar apeared on the screen I got a message saying: Windows cannot find "C:\Program". Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search. I clicked OK and Windows other wise started normally. If I remember correctly, this was the second time I got that message, however I can't remember when I got the first one.
AVG I currently running and will take about an hour and fourty mintutes to complete on my computer. I'll update once I get that information you're looking for.
One quick question: I after running MBAM and seeing Spybot was working I decided to try to see if I could get Age of Empires 3 to run but ended up getting the blue screen in the same place. Should I attempt to unistall and reinstall the program to see if it simply has a corrupted file or should I wait until later after we've run some more system dignostics. (yes I know games come later, but I figured if it's just a currupted file we could remove it from the list of problems, but if deleting and reinstall would cause more problems for you in your systems search I'd rather hold off)

If you get that error message again, check to make sure you posted it word for word. This is what I can getting now:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Windows+cannot+find+%22C%3A%5CProgram%22.+Make+sure+you+typed+the+name+correctly&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
You can try reinstalling the game, but in my humble opinion, you will have issues running resource intense games until you add RAM. For instance, I use my computer for just basic computing and I have 1.25 GB's of RAM. Crucial.com suggests:
Power User/Student
Internet browsing, email, word processing, photo editing, video editing, graphics programs and gaming, intensive multitasking. 2GB-4GB*
Post the results of the AVG scan and then go here, Register free and run the test, post a link to the results so I can view them.
http://www.pcpitstop.com/pcpitstop/default.asp
(there is no reason to purchase anything, the diagnostic report is free)

I did post the previous start up error word for word, I made sure to write it down just to make sure.
Well I searched the google link you provided and found this sight: http://www.securitystronghold.com/solutions/cannot-find-problems/windows-cannot-find-c%20program.html . which stated this:
c program.exe is a System required process and it shouldn't be disabled. Please note: c program.exe is needed for essential applications to work properly. Pay attention that there are plenty of malicious programs, which try to disguise their files as c program.exe - such files should be removed immidiately.
I downloaded the "Windows Cannot Find" (I searched the net and saw nothing that sayed it was adware or malware however it is a free download pay to use type application. It was probably still stupid of me to download it though)test it had and it came up with these three things (word for word) as possible reasons:
Invalid data C;\Windows\system32\userinit.exe of the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlo (there's at least one more letter at the end of the file but I couldn't quite make which one it was)
Service SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Viewpoint Manager Service with invalid file path
Service SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VolSnap with invalid file path
I deleted the program right after I finished writing the results here.

I decided to run Malwarebytes again with a quick systems scan and I came up with two hits. I removed and restarted, then ran the malware program again and I got the same two hits. Either the program isn't deleting these issues, they keep reinstalling themselves from somewhere else or they're miss reading files as maleware. Anyway here are the two programs that keep coming back.

Thanks...start with this list and click each item, then follow the directions to fix the problem. (once again, there is no reason to purchase anything to do this) http://www.pcpitstop.com/betapit/sec.asp?conid=22429191
When you get to Memory Load (at some point you will need to install more RAM)
This system had a total memory load of 81% during testing. This often indicates that more programs were running than could be handled by the installed RAM.
It may also indicate a system that needs rebooting because of memory leakage, a system running multiple anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, or a system that has been infected by malware.
Try rebooting this system and re-testing to see if the problem goes away. Consider adding RAM to this system.
When you click: Defragment File (Drive C: ) Performance 1703
My suggestion is to navigate to and delete that file:
C:\ Young Girl Picked up by Pervert on the Streets, Free Porn Sex 112.16 MBs 1703
I also suggest you click through all of the tabs for additional information.
If you have problems understanding any of the advice, post here for help:

Since MBAM can't seem to remove this item:
uacinit.dll We will use combofix. I can tell you that you need to limit how you use the comuter until you correct the issues pointed out by the diagnostic. Please avoid resource intense games until you correct the RAM issues. When using combofix, please follow the directions carefully. Do not run other programs when you are running combofix.
Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix
Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first
The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.
Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:
The Recovery Console was successfully installed
Please continue as follows:
1) Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html
Remember to re-enable them afterwards.
2) Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall
When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you. Post that report and a new HJT log
A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use
Thanks

RAM: In adition to having a low RAM card I think one of the problems I'm having is I have too many unneeded programs loading at start up that are draining my available RAM. (Quick question: do you know what Svchost.exe is or if it's normal to have seven aplications of it running, two network service three system and two local service.)
Defrag: One of the issues I've been having is that I can't get the windows defrag to run. Seeing how defragmented my hard drive was however I decided to download a third party defragmenter (Smart Defrag) and it seems to have done the job.
Combofix: I tried saving the file and opening it and it did the same thing that happens when I try to open any other spyware program, I get the hourglass for a few seconds then nothing happens except Combofix.exe apears in the taskmanager. I tried running it directly from the download, and it seemed to be working until it got to the install phaze and then I got an error message saying it could not change the name of the file to Combofix[1] and so it had to shut down.

Since it's been a while and we've done quite a few things I thought I'd update my issues list.
1. I no longer apear to seem to have the issue of going to the blue screen during start up as it has not happened in quite some time.
2. I still ocationally get a freeze up, but it doesn't seem to be no where near as bad as it used to be.
3. Although it had worked once, I still can not access the spybot main page so I cannot run the program.
4. I'm still getting the the window stating the IE was improperly shut down just about every time I open it, even when I know it was properly shut down.
5. When I do a search on yahoo or google and click on one of the links half the time it redirects me to a completly different sight than the one listed. (I could copy and past the link it takes me to on here if you think it would help)
6. Windows defrag still isn't running.
7. AVG is working just fine now, whatever that issues was it seems to have been solved.
8. I was able to get Age of Empires 3 to work once after running Malwarealeart but have get the blue screen ever since.
9. I've noticed I have multipul processes of the same type running during start up. Such as: Seven svchost.exe, ocationally two rundll32.exe, and two Iexplore.exe.
This is all that seems to be happening off the top of my head.

RAM:
I have too many unneeded programs loading at start up that are draining my available RAM.
Yes, that is an issue we need to correct, but you have other issues that I believe need to be addressed first.
http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/svchost/ <<< read this:
Acting as a host, the file svchost.exe creates multiple instances of itself.
Defrag: If the program you downloaded worked, fine. I would like to know what error message you get when you try to run the Windows XP defrag, that might tell us why it is not working?
Combofix: delete the program (right click) and download it again, this time before you save it to the Desktop, checkge the name like this:
You must rename it before saving it, save it to your Desktop.
http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii277/sUBs_/combofix/CF_download_rename.gif
I will comment briefly on any number in the last post that needs a comment.
2. Can be many reason and difficult to troubleshoot without error messages. Out of date drivers often cause this and you had three out of date, are they updated now?
3. Spybot S&D is the least of your problems. Please do not try to use it. Once all other issues are resolved, then you can uninstall it and reinstall it, that will likely fix issues with the program. If not, you can discuss that with Spybot S&D experts here:
http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=4
4. post error messages word for word.
5. What browser are you using when this happens? Did you try another browser? There is likely malware still onboard, that is why I am trying to get combofix run. The situation is that the computer was in poor shape and there was much to do.
6. Post error/message you get when you try to run it. Have you run chkdsk on this computer recently?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265
Besides running combofix, please also update the diagnostic at PCPitStop and post the link.
Thanks

Thanks a nasty rootkit infection combofix removed, you need to keep this computer offline unless you are troubleshooting the problems until we are sure you are clean. This junk can download more.
TeaTimer is running, please follow these directions to diable it and leave it disabled until we finish.
We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:
* Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
* If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
* On the left hand side, Click on Tools
* Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
* Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
* Restart your computer.
Post the link to the fresh diagnostic at PCPitStop next please.
Thanks

here you go: http://www.pcpitstop.com/betapit/sec.asp?conid=22439574
I've tried looking up up dates for Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (WDM) but I can't find one that doesn't require me to download an update scanner that scans for free but requires payment to use.
Also note: I ran the malware program and found no trace of the file we were trying to get rid of. My windows defrag is working, spybot is working, and it apears I'm no longer being redirected during google and yahoo searches (though this is still too early to tell if it's working for sure). I do notice that my comp seems to be running a little slower since the combofix scan, although I'm guessing that's normal.
Anywho, I'll be sure to stay off line unless checking this sight or running updates or scans. Thanks for everything so far.

This information will help with the first item:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/tips/mcgill1.mspx
I will allow you to resolve the other issue, you made good progress.
Have a look at this information, you do have programs I doubt you need running all of the time. Remember, if you turn off a program in MSConfig (System Configuration Utility) It can always be start in All Programs if needed. Make sure not to turn of security programs.

Let's proceed like this and see what happens.
Remove combofix from the computer like this:
Click START then RUN
Now type or copy Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK.
Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.
http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z176/EPL47/CF_Cleanup.png
Clean the System Restore files like this:
Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Reboot
Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
(optional if it was just clean)
Update MBAM and scan to be sure we missed none of the junk, there is no need to post a clean scan result.
(MBAM is yours to keep if you wish, keep it updated and run it once a month or so)
Update AVG8 and scan the system, to be sure it is running right and scanning clean.

Welp, ADV and Malware say my system's clean. Seems like all I've gatta do now is figure out how to turn off those programs that are eatin' up my eccess RAM. It's probably more a systems problem than a malware, but last night when I updated my drivers, and when I reset for some reason my computer was set to color quality was 4bit and I couldn't increase it. So I did a systems restore I had made before updating the drivers and it reset it back to the way it was suposed to be. However, I now notice I once again have seven instances of svhost.exe running again instead of three and pc pitstop is showing I'm back up to 83% of my RAM being used (it also shows I need to update two of my drivers but when I try to they say there already updated).
But anyway like I said that seems to be more of a systems problem that I can try to work out on my own or find someone who knows more about systems than I do. Thank you pskelley, your a real life saver on this one. I don't have any spare cash right now but when I do I'll be sure to make a donation, after all I want you guys to be around the next time I download a virus now don't I :D: .
