Hi
1st time poster so bear with me. Would really appreciate any help removing this Command Service problem. I think this my not be the only infection on this machine as recently had that Surf SideKick nightmare.

Spybot keeps finding this:

Command Service: Settings
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\cmdService

Welcome

Start Hijackthis and place a check next to these items If there.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [w033f295.dll] RUNDLL32.EXE w033f295.dll,I2 000f9e7e0033f295

====================================
Hit fix checked and close Hijackthis.

Please download and unzip Ren-cmdservice to your desktop.
It will only work correctly if the folder is placed on your desktop and extracted.
http://downloads.subratam.org/Lon/ren-cmdservice.zip
Open the ren-cmdservice folder by doubleclicking it and then doubleclick the
ren-cmdservice.bat file to run the program.
A text will open when it is finished, Post it please.
Then restart the PC run SpyBot check for and fix any problems found.
When next you check for problems it wont or shouldnt be there.

Thanks, that seems to have done the trick! :bigthumb:

Weirdly though, the only text I saw running was the following, despite following your intructions re running from the desktop:

Running from C:\Documents and Settings\client\Desktop\ren-cmdservice

This batch should be ran from the desktop\ren-cmdservice folder.
If it is not please exit!! and move the ren-cmdservice folder to the desktop.
Press any key to continue . . .

Sorry about that.
