Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance) http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

You must have read and followed the "Before you Post" instructions.

Please read the "Before you Post" instructions again, since you missed the instructions to disable TeaTimer, let's make sure you missed nothing else.

If you still wish to continue, we will start our search like this.

1) What program is finding this "dy44n4.exe // yzsxxx5.exe INFECTION(S)"? What exactly is it showing you?

2) We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:
* Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
* If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
* On the left hand side, Click on Tools
* Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
* Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
* Restart your computer.
(leave TT disabled until we finish)

3) Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your Desktop
http://www.malwarebytes.org/

http://www.besttechie.net/mbam/mbam-setup.exe <<< download

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
* Please post contents of that file & a new HJT log in your next reply.

Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

Tutorial if needed:
http://thespykiller.co.uk/index.php/topic,5946.0.html

4) Post also an uninstall list: Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
(You may edit out Microsoft, Hotfixes, Security Update for Windows XP,
Update for Windows XP and Windows XP Hotfix to shorten the list)
Image: http://img.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/hijackthis/uninstall-man.jpg

5) Wondering why you are still running Service Pack #2 when Service PacK #3has been released for a long time. Please DO NOTinstall SP#3 until we finish.

Thanks

Hi there,

I re-read the "Before you post" procedures once again, as you requested. Sorry about the Tea Timer issue. I misunderstood and thought I had to only do that at the next phase, so to speak.
Following the sequence of your last post, herewith:

1 I have saved screenshots of the error messages I receive immediately after the USB Modem is disconnected by the software. It seems as if the infections are discovered by Windows, as both error messages start with
"yzsxxx5.exe (or dyn44n4.exe) has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Appearance-wise it seems to be the usual Windows error message format.
Would it assist if I sent you the screenshots, if you so request?

2.Tea Timer is disabled, as requested. [Blushes]

3. Malwarebytes' software was installed and run. Log herewith.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.39
Database version: 2421
Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2

5. With regard to the absence of SP#3, the main reason is that I was in a remote part of the country, with only dial-up access and the size of the download precluded this installation. Hopefully, now that I'm back on an ADSL line, I'll be able to recify the situation, once you give me the go-ahead.

I will be out of the country from Wednesday 5 Aug, returning on Sunday the
23rd. Will it be possible to continue with this "project" upon my return? Sorry about the interruption. Thanks for all the guidance so far!! LOUIS

Please wait until we finish to install Service Pack #3

I posted on 7/29 and you did not respond until 8/3? The topic would have been closed today for non-response!
Unless we finish, because of that amount of time, I will close the thread and you can stat a new one when you have the time to respond on a timely basis.

Worm.Autorun <<< it is likely you were infected via a USB or Flash Drive, if you are using either of those, they must be formatted or disinfected or you can toos them.

Uninstall list: I look for malware and security issues and will not know all of your programs, but you should.
Hackers are using out of date programs to infect folks more and more,
Here is a small free tool that lets you know when something needs an update if you are interested:
http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/ While PSI runs in the System Tray for realtime notifications, I personally prefer to turn it off in MSConfig and run it from All Programs when I want to do a check.

Adobe Flash Player 9 ActiveX <<< check this
Adobe recommends all users of Adobe Flash Player 10.0.12.36 and earlier versions upgrade to the newest version 10.0.22.87

If your helper detects the presence of such programs on your computer he/she will ask you to remove them. Help will be withdrawn should you not agree to their removal.

Mozilla Firefox (3.0.1) <<< out of date

sexy lingerie Screensaver <<< suggest you uninstall, almost always bundled with adware

Please read and follow the directions carefully:

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed

Please continue as follows:

Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html
Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you. Post that report and a new HJT log

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use

Thanks
